Disturbing, ridiculous and absurd. Basically: It was everything I wanted from a Chuck Tingle book. There was just no way of knowing what was going to happen at any given moment. This is such a fun and easy read for when you want to get out of a reading slump and are into whacky, yet gruesome horror.

A feral chimpanzee with uncanny aiming precision, a protagonist worn thin by life and obsessed with her own morbid end, confusing astrophysical phenomena, first contact alien encounters and, threading through it all, a relentless cascade of misfortune. "Lucky Day" by Chuck Tingle unfolds like a fever dream steeped in psychedelia, each page slipping further from the grasp of logic into something stranger, wilder and altogether terrifying. While the sheer absurdity and strangeness of the narrative may not be for everybody, I‘ve found myself thoroughly enjoying the entertaining bizarreness of it. For those of you interested in cosmic horror, ill-timed jokes and existential dread, this book will certainly deliver.
