Lucky Day

Disturbing, ridiculous and absurd. Basically: It was everything I wanted from a Chuck Tingle book. There was just no way of knowing what was going to happen at any given moment. This is such a fun and easy read for when you want to get out of a reading slump and are into whacky, yet gruesome horror.

A feral chimpanzee with uncanny aiming precision, a protagonist worn thin by life and obsessed with her own morbid end, confusing astrophysical phenomena, first contact alien encounters and, threading through it all, a relentless cascade of misfortune. "Lucky Day" by Chuck Tingle unfolds like a fever dream steeped in psychedelia, each page slipping further from the grasp of logic into something stranger, wilder and altogether terrifying. While the sheer absurdity and strangeness of the narrative may not be for everybody, I‘ve found myself thoroughly enjoying the entertaining bizarreness of it. For those of you interested in cosmic horror, ill-timed jokes and existential dread, this book will certainly deliver.

… and we are going with her! A very fun, disturbing read. We follow Vera on what is supposed to be her happiest day, but it turns out to be her worst. The story contains a lot of horror elements and I wasn’t entirely sure what was happening until the very end. It’s a book full of surprises, horror, emotions and weird occurrences. I really enjoyed reading it and talking about it with my friends. Chuck Tingle definitely found the right words for a disturbing, slightly depressing but still very fun story.

A story with a lot of ups and downs! A writing style that simply kept me going. Imagine one day everything is perfect, and just one second later the whole world is literally falling apart. One unexpected event after another is happening and your right in the middle of it. Everything fell apart! But one day a random agent shows up on your door steps and seems to have all the answers. Are you going to take his offer?
