Other birds

''Other Birds'' is such an atmospheric read that I could'nt put it down. I think I'm saying that a lot... but it's true! Although I'm not that fond of birds, Dellawisps are kind of cute, which is coming to think of it, not that important at all. Anyway, these birds inhabit the apartment complex, where Zoey moves into her mother's studio apartment. By getting to know her and the other residents, it becomes clear that they all feel lonely and sad, trying to hide these feelings. This is such a sweet and compassionate story of magical realsim and all those people coming together, learning to love. Sometimes you just don't know what happens under the surface but that doesn't mean, it doesn't exist. Also. There is a Pigeon named Pigeon.

The Dellawisp is a hidden, cobblestone building with five appartements and each tells a different story. When Zoey comes to claim her deceased mother's appartement, she mets her weird and loveable neighbours. Strange things happen at the Dellawisp, and when one of her new neighbours dies, Zoey is thrown into the magical air that surrounds everything, including three ghosts. Everyone is in need of healing and for that they have to let go of what haunts them. "Storys aren't fiction. Stories are fabric. They're the white sheets we drape over our ghosts so we can see them."
