Meine letzte Rezension The Midnight Feast von Lucy Foley
This story connects two timelines, one in which the protagonists were enjoying a summer as more or less innocent teenagers that end in tragedy, and one in which we remeet everyone. The book is a bit like a hot day in summer at the end of a hot week: we are inching closer to the boiling point and a thunderstorm is in the air. The novel has some really interesting things going for itself: the gap between the locals and the ultra rich, folklore and superstitions, old secrets, a toxic friendship and a town full of secrets. Over all it was a very engaging and readable book, focussed a lot on the interpersonal relationships and with great imagery and atmosphere. I would have loved to see more of the more mystical side of the story, but the secrets behind that were also part of the story, so I get why we got very little off that till the very end.

The Midnight Feast

    Vom Zirkus über die einzigartige Atmosphäre und die wundervolle Liebesgeschichte von Celia und Marco, bis hin zu einem magischen Wettstreit und der besonderen Verbindung zwischen den Charakteren: diese Geschichte hat mich absolute verzaubert und mir zugleich den Atem geraubt.

    The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue

    This story is breathtakingly beautiful, filled with love for art and music and places like Paris and New York. Addies wish, not to be forgotten shaped this story. The writting is amazing and I love the switches between the present and the past. I loved Addie and Henry.

    If We Were Villains

    I loved this story! It would have probably had even more meaning if I had more indept knowledge of Shakespeare's play. But I loved the use of lines from the play. The setting, atmosphere and foreshadowing were amazing as were all the flawed character - you will love to hate them!

    House of Salt and Sorrows

    This dark, spooky and atmospheric retelling of "The Twelve Dancing Princesses" swept me off my feet and has become one of my favorite books. Its very twisty and mysterious, has an interesting god element and extremely imaginative worldbuilding. The characters are written so well!

    So viel Zorn und so viel Liebe

    Salahudin und Noor waren allerbeste Freude. Doch seit einem Streit reden die beiden nicht mehr miteinander und so fehlt ihnen gerade dann Unterstützung, wenn sie am meisten gebraucht wird. Im Laufe der Geschichte lernen sie, was Freundschaft und Vergebung wert ist und was nötig ist, um die Monster der Vergangenheit zu besiegen. Eines der besten Bücher, dass ich seit Langem gelesen habe, auch oder besonders wegen der schwierigen Themen, die die Autorin mit viel Sensibilität behandelt.

    What I Carry

    This is one of my favorite book!! It talks about the experience of a girl in fostercare and it is so beautiful how she learns to trust someone and starts to make friendships. This story is absolutely hearwarming and anamazing journey. I loved the nature element the setting!

    Dieses Buch hat mich zutiefst berührt! C.G. Drews erzählt mit viel Herz und Verletzlichkeit die Geschichte von zwei obdachlosen Brüdern und einer Familie, die den Tod der geliebten Mutter verarbeiten muss. Die Autorin geht mit schwierigen Themen wie Trauer, mentale Gesundheit und finanziellen Problemen sehr sensibel um, schreibt wunderbare Charaktere und zeigt uns den Wert von Freundschaft, Familie und Ehrlichkeit.
