Meine letzte Rezension Counting Days von Steffi Kuhlmann

Nach monatelanger Leseflaute war „Counting Days“ endlich mal wieder ein Buch, zu dem ich wirklich gerne gegriffen habe. Die Autorin hat es geschafft, ihre Charaktere unfassbar echt und nahbar zu schreiben, mit realistischen Sorgen und Problemen. Der Schreibstil ist wunderschön und ich habe meine Textmarker (ja, ich benutze Textmarker in Büchern) nur selten zur Seite gelegt. Eine wirklich große Empfehlung für Leser:innen, die ein gefühlvolles Buch lesen möchten, das sich anfühlt wie eine ganz feste Umarmung <3

House of Frank

For all those of you who need more of the Found Family Trope in your life (read: everybody) and who don't have any issues with sobbing your heart out while reading - oooooh, do I have a book for you! This beautifully queer, whimsical story about grief and healing takes the reader on a journey you'll carry with you for the rest of your life. Reading "House of Frank" genuinely feels like coming home and being welcomed with a hug and a hot cup of tea - something I hope everbody gets to experience when reading this book!

Glorious Exploits

A masterfully written book! Deeply moving, curiously strange and extremely hilarious at once! Lennon's writing is so profound, it makes you feel like you're walking through Syracuse right alongside Lampo. I laughed, cried and cursed the characters many a time - I'll hold this story very close to my heart from here on out.

The Song of Achilles

My oh my, this was simply beautiful. It won't really come as a surprise to most that I love Greek Mythology, so I was obviously familiar with the tragedy of Achilles and Patroclus. Still, Madeleine Miller told their story with so much love and reverence, I fell in love with it all over again. I don't think this book will ever fully leave me.

Orbital

People who've been to space have a view on life most of us can probably never fully comprehend - though I imagine that reading Samantha Harvey's "Orbital" gets us pretty close. Beautiful prose combined with moving imagery and characters who all have a deep need for their story to be told. You're definitely missing out if you're not reading this book.
