Meine letzte Rezension Dungeon Crawler Carl von Matt Dinniman
When aliens harvest Earth for all its resources, Carl and Donut are thrown into an intergalactic gameshow. The DnD-like dungeon is filled with absurd creatures like crack-selling llamas and punk goblins. With a lot of humour and some snap-back-to-reality moments, like the realization that all of Earth is gone forever, the story constantly swings between ridiculous comedy and harsh, unsettling reality. The game show aspect runs through everything, as Carl’s struggle to survive is constantly broadcast to an alien audience, where attention and “views” can directly influence his chances of survival. The more entertaining he is, the more resources and advantages he can gain, which turns survival into a strange mix of combat and performance. I had a lot of fun while reading this book, even though some moments might have been a bit too over-the-top. If you play video games or enjoy DnD, this book is made for you.

    Howl's Moving Castle

    I watched the Studio Ghibli film first, and it became my favorite one right away. I loved the visuals and the characters, so I decided to read the book, and I wasn’t disappointed. Even though the story is quite different in many parts, I found both versions really well done in their own way. The book gives more background information, and the characters feel a bit different, while the film stands out for its unique art style and visuals. Personally, I liked the book a bit more because of all the additional information it gives us. A book for everyone who likes fantasy, amazing world-building, and unforgettable characters!

    Japan im 17. Jahrhundert: Jack reist zusammen mit seinem Vater nach Japan, um zu handeln. An der Küste werden sie von Ninjas überfallen und nur Jack überlebt. Er wird von einer Samurai-Familie aufgenommen und lernt die japanischen Bräuche kennen. Eine meiner liebsten Jugendbuchreihen, die durch und durch spannend bleibt. Auch die anderen Teile sind eine absolute Empfehlung!

    Gespensterjäger auf eisiger Spur (Band 1) - Mit 8 neu illustrierten Farbseiten

    Als Tom Saft aus dem Keller holen soll, begegnet er einem echten Gespenst. Doch als er es bekämpft, merkt er, dass Hugo eigentlich ganz harmlos ist. Als er erfährt, dass Hugo aus seinem eigenen Haus vertrieben wurde, hilft er ihm zusammen mit Hedwig Kümmelsaft sein Zuhause zurückzuerobern. Ein wunderbarer Kinderbuchklassiker von Cornelia Funke, der sehr viel Spaß macht zu lesen. Die Hörbücher sind auch sehr zu empfehlen!

    Tintenwelt 1. Tintenherz

    Meggie und ihr Vater Mo reisen nach dem Besuch eines unheimlichen Gasts zu ihrer Tante Elinor. Ihr Vater ist Buchbinder und hat die besondere Gabe, Menschen in Bücher hineinlesen zu können. Sie findet heraus, dass sie diese Gabe auch besitzt, und dann geht das Abenteuer erst richtig los. Ein wunderschöner Fantasyroman von Cornelia Funke, der zeigt, wie viel Macht Worte und Geschichten haben.
