This is a highly unique and fascinating book about a young man who does not have the ability to feel emotions. The beautifully written story is devastating and heartbreaking all the same. It has short chapters and a fluent writing style that makes it easy to keep track of the deep and interesting characters. I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to read something different and wants to feel all the feels. -

A really moving novel.
“There is no such person who can't be saved. There are only people who give up on trying to save others.” Very unique book about a boy who never feels any Emotions and another boy who feels way too much. Throughout this novel I realized how much I feel every second of my life and what an impact those feelings have on my actions. It's kind of strange to read a book about a boy who doesn’t feel at all and it still being so relatable. This book is not only about feelings, but about friendship and companionship. It represents the complexity of life in such a thought-provoking way. A really moving novel. -

Eine stille, eindringliche Geschichte
„Almond“ von Won-Pyung Sohn erzählt die Geschichte von Yunjae auf ruhige und zugleich spannende Weise. Besonders gelungen ist, dass das Ende nicht eindeutig vorweggenommen wird und Raum für eigene Gedanken lässt. Die Entwicklung der Geschichte sowie der Einblick in Yunjaes Gehirnstörung sind interessant und berührend dargestellt. Insgesamt ein lesenswertes Buch, das zum Nachdenken anregt.
