Bride

This was my very first Ali Hazelwood book, and it did not disappoint. In fact: after reading this book, I read many more of her books and soon became a Hazelwood book lover. 'Bride' offers an interesting & new storyline; it combines enemies-to-friends-to-lovers, arranged marriage, forced proximity & found family; the characters are smart and extremely funny; there's tons of witty comments and, in general, a great sense of humour throughout the book; there's (a little) spice, too; and it is beautifully written. I highly recommend to read it. As a side note: the spicy scenes included some weird elements that are best to be ignored. A lot of people gave the book less credit because of that, but it shouldn't diminish the experience, especially because it took up only a very small part of the book, and it actually did fit the storyline.

I loved everything about this book, the storytelling, the worldbuilding and the chemistry between Misery and Lowe which was undeniable from the beginning. It was so hard for me to put this book away, finding out if and how their relationship develops was just too intriguing. "Bride" was the first book I've read by Hazelwood, and as a huge fan of fantasy it definitely did not disappoint.

Usually, I’m not the biggest romance reader... however, I was in the mood for some werewolf Romantasy and what better book to grab for that than “Bride” by Ali Hazelwood? And it was surprisingly great. The tension between Misery and Lowe was amazing from the very start. Even though it took some time until I got used to the word “Vampyre”, I loved the kind of cliche descriptions of the species and the way “Bride” broke many of well-known tropes in unexpected ways. The romance was cute and not at all as toxic as the book’s premise makes it seem. Also, I totally adored the wholesome relationship Misery develops with Lowe’s little sister and the story’s small investigational aspect. I was glued to the pages and it was a constant struggle to put the book down. I’m definitely an Ali Hazelwood fan now and excited to read the rest of her backlist!

Wieder mal einfach toll. Ali Hazelwood beweist mit diesem Buch, dass sie auch in der Fantasy unterwegs sein kann. Misery und Lowe muss man einfach gern haben, die Geschichte ist spannend und unterhaltsam geschrieben. Alles in allem eine große Leseempfehlung. // Once again simply great. Ali Hazelwood proves with this book that she can also do fantasy. You simply have to like Misery and Lowe, the story is thrilling and entertainingly written. All in all, a must-read for werewolf-, vampire- and AliVerse-Fans.

I loved this book! Though Misery is an odd choice for a name (especially since her twin is simply "Owen") but her character is deep, well rounded and in typical Hazelwood fashion hilarious. The relationship is romantic before it gets spicy and the fantasy realm is well build. Surely she is not creating anything new and the comparion to Twilight is there, but that doesn't do it any harm or takes away from the joy of reading. All in all so far my favorite Hazelwood book
