Welcome to Prythian: High Fae, curses, and massive plot twists ✨

WOW! AMAZING! I have so many thoughts… I honestly didn’t expect to like this book as much as I did. I love Tamlin, but Rhysand is being a little sus and yet, I’m starting to like him, too! I still wonder why he stumbled out on the terrace and why he even helped Feyre in the first place. ✍️ That whole curse plotline Under the Mountain was absolutely insane. Throughout the book, I kept wondering how SJM even came up with all these ideas for the plot, and especially for the creatures. The world-building is so immersive; I felt like I was literally inside the book while reading it! Also, I really like Lucien. He’s such a sweetheart and even tried to help Feyre Under the Mountain. That is just so bestie-coded! And oh my gosh, I totally cried when Alis was finally reunited with her boys.

    Highlight

Wow.

    Buch (Taschenbuch)

    Highly recommended high fantasy

I bought the book because of a Booktoker who highly recommended it. And I wasn't disappointed at all. ⚠️Spoiler alert⚠️ Feyre is a proud and strong woman who starts the book with all her senses being focused on surviving and keeping her sisters and father alive, who don't get over the fact, that they are poor. Feyre tries to suppress her passion for painting because it's "useless" and she can't afford it. When she accidentally kills a High Fae, she gets abducted by Tamlin, the Fae Lord of Spring Court. I really liked the way, their relationship is severely disturbed by prejudices on both sides. First, she tries to flee, but when Tamlin promises, that he takes care of her family, she starts enjoying life. That's the point where she falls for him. She learns more about his world. Most importantly, a blight is weakening the magic and creatures such as the Bogger keep Tamlin and his court on their toes. I really liked Lucien as well. He's a friend of Tamlin, a really deep and likeable character. But a visitor comes and drives Tamlin to send Feyre back to her family. But she has a feeling, that something's wrong. And comes back to find everything changed. And she needs to make a lot of sacrifices not only to safe Tamlin but the whole world of Faeries... I really liked reading sth new, and the way she wrote the story was really enjoyable. I especially liked the High Fae of Night Court, because he's a very controversial character, not exactly bad but still not on the good side. I also liked the bad guy, she is a broken woman who knows how to get what she wants. When the plot twisted, you started getting stuff that happened chapters before. The author planned her plot really good and scattered clues over the whole book. I also liked the ending, happy, but there was still some stuff to do for the next books. The spice was exactly what I like: Only hints, nothing explicit, very elegante and emotional. Sometimes, Feyre was a bit too proud, but I could empathize with her. However, I didn't like that she was willing to be with Lucien, but vehemently rejected Tamlin's company. I also didn't like the rite of fire night, it's like unnecessary and stupid. Why would exactly that be the rite? It has nothing to do with the reasons of Fire Night. But all in all, I really enjoyed reading it and it definitely made it into my favorite books. Highly recommended!!!

    A must-read

I really love this book. It's full of strong characters, has a unique setting, and is incredibly well-written. This book is the first in a series that is filled with adventure, magic, epic/bloody wars, and intertwined fates/relationships. It offers a rather gentle introduction to the story, allowing the reader to gradually delve deeper into this new world before everything turns into so much more. There's a lot of hype around this series, and I know that can sometimes feel overwhelming and even take away your desire to read it for yourself. But trust me when I say: it's worth it. This series has become one of my favourites in such a short time, and its characters — along with some of the places — have found their own special place in my heart.

    Buch (Gebundene Ausgabe)

Stay with the High Lord. You will be safe.

Feyre is a Human who lives in a poor home. She has to go hunting to keep her father and sisters fed. One morning in the forest, she spots a big beast, that she then kills. She gets a lot of money for its skin and they're happy for a little while. Until a High Fae comes to their home and takes Feyre away with him. And the story begins in a cozy dream court where she starts to like her capturer. She meets other mystic creatures - some of them evil and finds out more about the history, that was hidden from her. I don't want to spiler too much but I finished this book sooo quickly - I just needed to know what's happening! One of my favorite quotes was: "Be glad of your human heart, pity those who don't feel anything at all." I'm really looking forward to the next Books.

    Consuming

If Sara J. Maas is talented at one thing, it for sure is creating worlds that will consume you. With this fantasy series she presents a world of fae, humans and other mythical creatures. The humans and fae are separated through a wall, to protect the humans from being hunted by the fae. So how should Feyre know that only she, a human, can save the magic realm from an enemy that no one else will fight against? It’s a story about a woman who is too exhausted to know what she wants and still fights for everyone she loves. A warrior at heart.

    Buch (Taschenbuch)

The hype is definitely worth it!

Some of my friends had to be so patient with me, they told me to read this series all the time (especially after crying about fourth wing and iron flame). And now I'm buddy reading it with one of my friends, that also didn't read it yet and we are legit screaming while inhaling the book series. I love the writing style so much, I fell deeply into the fae world. It's thrilling till the bitter end and even though I saw some spoilers, I'm totally mind blown about the plot twists and fall hardly for each character. To be honest i needed 2 chapters to settle in, but since then I ran through the pages in a single breathhold and died thousands of deaths.

"Such color and variation - colors I didn't know the names of, colors I wanted to catalog and weave together. Colors I had no reason not to explore now."

'A court of thorns and roses' is a whimsical but also cruel tale of a mortal girl who gets abducted by fae. Every page of this book made me want to read faster. If you haven't already, you should absolutely read this!!
