Bought the whole series like a year ago, had them laying around at home. Never even looked at them.  Now I finally had the time and desire to start ACOTAR, and what can I say? ...I regret that I waited for so long.  It has drama, action, romance, and a female protagonist, that isn't annoying or unrelatable like some other. :)  The world-building is super, not too convoluted, perfect for my liking.  The amount of spice as well. I think it is just the right sum, so it doesn't overshadow the entertaining plot about a young, strong-willed human woman fighting for her kind while losing her heart to the enemy, the beautiful yet cruel Faes.  So if you think about starting ACOTAR, don't make my mistake. As punishment, she's abducted to Prythian, where she must take the consequences for her actions. As the youngest of three daughters, Feyre has taken on the responsibility of providing for her family. While her sisters yearn for their former wealth, Feyre has adapted to their impoverished circumstances, becoming a skilled hunter. Her courage, determination, and sharp wit make her a formidable character. I connected with Feyre easily, although her stubbornness could be frustrating at times. Her mistrust of others, while understandable, occasionally made me want to shake some sense into her. Despite her occasional naivety and overconfidence, I grew fond of her and enjoyed following her journey. Her counterpart, Tamlin, is a Fae who harbours a deep sadness. While he appears confident, his broken spirit is evident. I found myself drawn to him surprisingly quickly, despite his enigmatic nature. The novel is written in the first person from Feyre's perspective, and the author's writing style is engaging and immersive. I appreciated the single point of view and found the pacing to be just right. The plot starts a bit slowly, and it took me a while to warm up to the story. However, once I was invested, I couldn't put the book down. The tension builds steadily, and the world-building becomes increasingly intricate. The final third of the book is particularly thrilling, with plenty of twists and turns that kept me guessing. While I'm not entirely convinced by every aspect of the story, I can see why the series is so popular. The concept is intriguing, and the execution is captivating. The beginning felt a bit slow, but overall, I was thoroughly entertained. Interestingly, I only learned after finishing the book that it was a retelling of Beauty and the Beast. Knowing this beforehand would have helped me anticipate certain plot points, especially the ending. Despite my initial hesitation, I'm glad I started this series. The story is well-crafted, and the characters are compelling. Although the beginning felt a bit slow, the overall experience was enjoyable. I'm looking forward to continuing the series. ...weiterlesen
