  Vampires of El Norte

  I went into this book completely blind and was not dissappointed. in "Vampires of El Norte" we follow Nena and Nestor, two childhood best friends ripped apart after tragedy strikes. The story essentially begins 9 years after that tragedy. Nena and Nestor have to navigate through old feelings , all the while a war rages on in the "background". And even though the Romance is the main plot of this book, the war and time period very much played a big part in this. Themes explored: Racism, Classism, Womanhood in the 1840, Forbidden love & of course the vampires(just not in the way some readers might like)

  Frankenstein

  I made it my mission to read or re-read more classics. Frankenstein is definitly still my favourite. The story basically is just Victor not wanting to take responsibility for the problems he caused. And the creature basically turning "dark" because a certain someone didn't want anything to do with "it". Beautiful prose, characters that are fundamentally flawed and a gloomy setting, Frankenstein has ist all.

  a NEW pixie hollow story in 2025??? about the TRAGIC STAR-CROSSED ROMANCE BETWEEN QUEEN CLARION AND LORD MILORI??? by the one and only Allison Saft???? someone pinch me for real. This book was everthing I loved in a Romantasy: +star crossed lovers +so much yearning and heartache +the chemistry had me on the floor I would reccomend this book to literally everyone I come across.

  Bat Eater

  Oh were to begin.. This book was everything. Even though I had no idea what i was getting into, this story managed to catch me during the first couple of pages. Set in 2020 New York (so during the pandemic) this book tackles serious subjects such as the increased racism and unfair Sinophobia people faced during COVID times. Combine this with a scary ghost story rooted in Eastern folklore and you get "Bat Eater". KLB did a fantastic job at keeping the reader engaged in the story and highlighting the important political points in this book. I was nodding along in agreement most of the story. Overall "Bat Eater" is extemely realistic, gory and dark. I'm still in awe, how KLB managed to execute this story in such a honest and thought provoking way. I encourage every one to give this book a shot.

  Dieses Buch hat mich einmal durch eine Achterbahn der Gefühle geschickt. In dem Buch geht es um Willa unsere Protagonistin, die an Depressionen leidet. Durch ihre Arbeit im Gemeindezentrum trifft sie auf Elias, der ihr von jetzt auf gleich den Kopf verdreht. Die Geschichte der beiden hat mich zu tiefst berührt und ich konnte nicht aufhören zu lesen. (Der absolut wundervolle Schreibstil hat vielleicht auch ein bisschen dazu beigetragen ) Die Autor*in geht wahnsinnig einfühlsam mit den sehr harten Themen um und um ehrlich zu sein, hab ich mich schon lange nicht mehr in einem Buch so verstanden gefühlt. ❤️ Und Elias war das komplette Buch über eine Green Flag obwohl Herr Fitzek (wer das Buch gelesen hat weiß von wem ich spreche) dann doch die Show gestohlen hat. Solltet ihr euch dazu entscheiden das Buch in die Hand zu nehmen, schaut bitte vorher auf die Triggerwarnungen und seid euch sicher, dass ihr aktuell in der Lage seid die genannten Themen zu verkraften.

  All Systems Red

  In All Systems Red, we follow a "Murderbot" who is send on an expeditions to protect the human scientists at the site. Problem is, he would much rather spend his time watching 1000 episodes of Space Soap Operas, sounds bizarre but it's an absolute delight to read about our robot friend trying not to get attached to his human companions while some space action is going on. I reread this series at least once every 2 months.

  Sorcery of Thorns

  This fantasy stand-alone is one of the best I've ever read. Margaret Rogerson delivered with this fantastical tale about new found determination, new found love and kinda saving the world. Not only the writing style felt magical, the characters were also an absolute highlight. Our protagonist Elizabeth is a very lovable and determined woman and the love interest Nathaniel Thorne was equally lovable and sassy (he reminded me of Howl from "Howls' Moving Castle). I had a blast reading this book and cannot stop recommending it enough.

  Was ein Manga. Von dem grandiosen Zeichenstil abgesehen, fand ich die Story äußerst unterhaltsam. Ein bisschen vorhersehbar in manchen Momenten und den nächsten wird man mit Plottwists überrumpelt. Habe die ganze Reihe an einem Tag aufgesaugt.

  These Violent Delights

  This book felt like a fever dream. I haven’t read a book that had me feeling all the emotions in a long time. Also it’s borderline psychotic This story is about passion turned obsession with lots of violence. The characters aren’t likeable at all but that’s the point , the reader isn’t supposed to like them. Even so, I had a blast with this one. The writing style was exquisite and I would reread this book already but that might be a bit too much even for me.
