Meine letzte Rezension Novel Haven - Match of Fate von Anabelle Stehl

Nataly hat die große Chance für ihr Indie Studio das entwickelte Spiel “Novel Haven” in einem Stream vorzustellen und wird dabei von dem großen E-Sportler Dylan geraidet. Just finden die beiden sich in einem Streit in besagtem Stream wieder und die Medien zerreißen sie ganz schnell. Natürlich heißt es dann: Schadensbegrenzung in Form von Fake Dating. Und schon bald scheint Fake Real zu werden … “Novel Haven - Match of Fate” ist eine unfassbar süße Geschichte mit zwei wirklich zauberhaften Charakteren. Mit viel Humor und einer guten Portion Emotionen und Dramatik wird hier eine rasante Liebesgeschichte im Gaming Bereich erzählt und bietet dazu wieder interessante Hintergrundgeschichten, die sensibel und authentisch thematisiert werden. Ein wirklich überzeugender Nachfolger!

Düster, atmosphärisch und unfassbar emotional geschrieben, ist diese Geschichte ein richtiger Dark Fantasy Epos! SenLinYu schreibt so vollkommen fesselnd, man kann und will dieses Buch nicht aus der Hand legen. Dazu bespricht "Alchemised" viele gesellschaftlich relevante Themen und regt auch noch Wochen nach Beenden des Buchs zum Nachdenken an!

Sunrise on the Reaping

Suzanne Collins did it again! This time we get Haymitch Abernathy - our beloved mentor of district 12 - to tell us his story and it could not have been more soul crushing and brutal. In the second Quarter Quell 48 tributes have to participate and we finally learn what really happened in this game. And we also learn that even though Katniss was the mockingjay it did not start with her and it actually took a long time for the spark to catch fire. This book shows us again how power abuse and opression is still a big part of the society. It is wonderfully written and beware of ugly sobs and crying because it will cause a lot of emotional damage!

This story is an amazing adventure that takes us trough the enchanting land of Egypt while our protagonists not only discover secrets about Inez' parents but also about Cleopatra's history! Absolutely fantastic and magically written! The writing style is absolutely enchanting and addictive. Definitely a recommendation for fans of Divine Rivals and exciting adventure stories with romantasy elements!

The Wind Weaver

Rhya is a halfling, which are chased to execution. While she is near her end, Commander Scythe saves her and kidnaps her himself. He does not tell her the reason, only that she is special and needed in the gruelsome North ... A book with wonderful landscapes and interesting characters as well as great world building. Elemental magic and political intrigues about different kingdoms and an old prophecy make this book feel like "The Last Airbender" and "Merlin" had a child and "The Wind Weaver" is the outcome. Definitely a highlight of the year!

Divine Rivals

… this book was everything I needed! Utterly enchanting and beautifully written. Rebecca Ross‘ writing style captured me from the very first moment and I got addicted to the story. I could not put the book down! An incredible Young Adult Romantasy about two people from different societies who fall for each other during one of their most difficult times in life. Recommended for everyone who wants an easy introduction to the fantasy genre and prefer a wonderful and heart wrenching romance that makes one giggly and excited for more!

Shiori is determined to find her brothers and wants break the curses. A beautiful retelling of the fairytale „The Six Swans“ with an asian inspired setting and elements. Elizabeth Lim‘s writing style is absolutely stunning and addictive. Interesting characters and an exciting plot line turn this book into pure magic! Recommended for everyone who loves a good fantasy novel with determined characters!

Definitely a highlight of the year! In this book topics like racism and bullying are an important factor. One will question their own moral about supporting a dubious protagonist. Satirical and cynical and also very entertaining! “Yellowface” is an exciting story about the modern literary industry!

Novel Haven - Levels of Love

Lara arbeitet an dem Spiel "Novel Haven", welches sie gemeinsam mit ihrem Team aus einem Indie Studio programmiert. Als das Team die Chance erhält, bei einem Wettbewerb ein Preisgeld für ihr Spiel zu gewinnen, muss Lara zur Convention reisen und dieses vorstellen. Blöd nur, dass Lara sich vor Publikum so gar nicht wohl fühlt. Und dass Lara ausgerechnet in ihrem stärksten Konkurrenten Luca einen sicheren Hafen findet, damit hätte sie auch nicht gerechnet. Anabelle Stehl schreibt fantastisch und wir bekommen facettenreiche Charaktere mit mitreißenden Hintergrundgeschichten. Novel Haven ist eine unfassbar schön geschriebene Geschichte über Traumata, Mental Health und dann auch noch weibliche Repräsentation in der Gaming Szene? Dieses Buch hat mein nerdiges Herz erobert und ist definitiv eines meiner Romance-Jahreshighlights für dieses Jahr!

Ruthless Vows

Absolutely brilliant and beautifully written this sequel brings joy and worries to the reader. Definitely another great Young Adult Romantasy that completes Iris’ and Romans story about being torn apart by war and having their own hardships during their time spent separated from each other. Yet they still find a way to communicate and work together to fight for their love and friends! An incredible and beautiful ending to this enchanting duology and a must read for fans of romantasy stories!
