Heaven steht vor einer riesigen Herausforderung, sie soll nicht nur den Hauptact in der nächsten Show übernehmen, sie muss auch mit ihrem Gedächtnisverlust klarkommen. Zumal sie sich nicht mehr an ihr Können als Luftakrobatin erinnern kann ... Gleichzeitig umwirbt der grimmige Helix sie und sie kann sich nicht vorstellen je etwas mit diesem komischen Mann angefangen zu haben. Der finale Band der Zirkusdilogie bietet Unterhaltung, Spannung, Intrigen und einiges an Liebesdrama und ist dabei wieder leicht zu lesen! Mit freundlichen Grüßen

    The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping

    Suzanne Collins did it again! This time we get Haymitch Abernathy - our beloved mentor of district 12 - to tell us his story and it could not have been more soul crushing and brutal. In the second Quarter Quell 48 tributes have to participate and we finally learn what really happened in this game. And we also learn that even though Katniss was the mockingjay it did not start with her and it actually took a long time for the spark to catch fire. This book shows us again how power abuse and opression is still a big part of the society. It is wonderfully written and beware of ugly sobs and crying because it will cause a lot of emotional damage!

    Inez sets off on a journey to Cairo to investigate the disappearance of her parents. While being in Egypt she feels a magical connection to the last pharaoh of Egypt - Cleopatra. This story is an amazing adventure that takes us trough the enchanting land of Egypt while our protagonists not only discover secrets about Inez' parents but also about Cleopatra's history! Absolutely fantastic and magically written! The writing style is absolutely enchanting and addictive. Definitely a recommendation for fans of Divine Rivals and exciting adventure stories with romantasy elements!

    … this book was everything I needed! Utterly enchanting and beautifully written. Rebecca Ross‘ writing style captured me from the very first moment and I got addicted to the story. I could not put the book down! An incredible Young Adult Romantasy about two people from different societies who fall for each other during one of their most difficult times in life. Recommended for everyone who wants an easy introduction to the fantasy genre and prefer a wonderful and heart wrenching romance that makes one giggly and excited for more!

    Six Crimson Cranes

    Shiori secretly carries magic within herself. Her stepmother finds out about it and curses her into exile not able to speak a word about it and turns her six brothers into cranes. Shiori is determined to find her brothers and wants break the curses. A beautiful retelling of the fairytale „The Six Swans“ with an asian inspired setting and elements. Elizabeth Lim‘s writing style is absolutely stunning and addictive. Interesting characters and an exciting plot line turn this book into pure magic! Recommended for everyone who loves a good fantasy novel with determined characters!

    Yellowface

    Definitely a highlight of the year! In this book topics like racism and bullying are an important factor. One will question their own moral about supporting a dubious protagonist. Satirical and cynical and also very entertaining! “Yellowface” is an exciting story about the modern literary industry!

Dieser bringt ihr aber nicht nur die Arbeit als Lifeguard näher … Lilly Lucas überzeugt wieder mit einem süchtig machenden Schreibstil. Dazu machen knisternde Sommernächte voller Emotionen und tiefgründigen Gesprächen zwischen den unglaublich sympathischen Charakteren dieses Buch zu einem absoluten Romancehighlight!

    Ruthless Vows

    Absolutely brilliant and beautifully written this sequel brings joy and worries to the reader. Definitely another great Young Adult Romantasy that completes Iris’ and Romans story about being torn apart by war and having their own hardships during their time spent separated from each other. Yet they still find a way to communicate and work together to fight for their love and friends! An incredible and beautiful ending to this enchanting duology and a must read for fans of romantasy stories!

There she has to overcome further hurdles and save the people she loves. Will it be possible for her to save her people and even further will it be possible for her to save Elfhame? Holly Black did it again. An absolutely stunning ending to this trilogy!

With one of them a red string of fate is formed, but as the Sea God‘s bride she should form that string with the actual god… A great retelling of „The Tale of Shim Cheong“ and it is fantastically written! It is a wonderful story about friendship, love and destiny. Recommended for everyone who loves fantasy with an East Asian setting, in this case Korea!

    When the Moon Hatched

    An assassin for the rebellion gets into trouble when she meets an unknown acquaintance... Is she really the person she thinks she is? Strong female protagonist in a world full of intrigues, killers and dragons. A bit of a complicated story about different kingdoms and an interesting magic system as well as different breeds of dragons. It leaves you with a few questions but it is definitely catching! Eagerly waiting for the sequel!
