  The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue

  She's cursed to be forgotten - until she meets the one person who remembers. This book has my whole heart. I cannot recall reading anything like this or feeling anything like what I felt while reading it. The story itself was just perfect, and the writing is so beautifully, almost poetic. V.E. Schwab captivated me completely with her words. The atmosphere was also perfectly fitting the story. We relive Addie's life, starting in the 1700s in France, accompanying her through the centuries until we reach 2014 in New York, all infused with a love for art and books. It captures the feeling of being free yet lonely, seizing every moment of life and living one second at a time. The story was emotional, captivating, dark, atmospheric, heartwarming, and heartbreaking all at once. The ending definitely broke me, and I’m sure I will never forget Addie LaRue and her story.

  I Who Have Never Known Men

  "I Who Have Never Known Men" is an amazing book that really touched me and made me think about life and what it means to be human. The story is about 39 women and one little girl being held captive in a strange, isolated bunker. The women are confused about how they ended up in this situation and how they might get out, and this confusion is contagious. As a reader, you feel unsettled but also drawn into this uncertainty. This book creates an oppressive feeling of being stuck between hope and despair. Some elements were a bit repetitive, but I think that fits perfectly with the story. This book raises big questions about what it means to be human: What do I feel if I've never really seen the world? What do I want if I've never had anything? These deep thoughts made me reflect on my own life and think about the privileges I have. I've never read anything that affected me so deeply, I just couldn't let it go and thought about it a lot after finishing it. I’m sure I’ll reread this book in the future.

  Atmosphere

  This book is everything I didn't know I needed.  The story is about space, stars, and astronauts but also about so much more. It's about family and friendships, love, grief, dreams and ambitions. It addresses queerness in the '80s, and women in male-dominated fields, breaking barriers and making history. Reid's beautiful, atmospheric writing ties everything together with such passion and emotion, pulling you deeper into the story with every page. The story makes you feel the vastness of space, and how tiny we are in it all. But also, how important we are to the people we love, and the responsibility we take on in life, even when we feel insignificant. The setting is so good and well researched, I didn't even know I was that interested in space before reading this book. And the characters? They're so authentic and real, I grew such a deep emotional connection to them. Absolutely one of my favorite books this year.

  The Safekeep

  A deeply emotional story set in 1960s Netherlands about queer love, family, and the meaning of home. The atmosphere is captivating, and the writing is absolutely beautiful. The pacing is rather slow, but it's completely worth it as it allows a deeper emotional connection to the story and its protagonists. The characters are very complex, and even though not the most likeable at first, I grew to really love them both. But this isn't just heartwarming romance, it's a touching story about the life after World War II, grief, and humanity. I must admit that the ending was very abrupt, but nontheless it was an unforgettable read!

  Ein schmerzhaft authentischer und emotionaler Roman über die junge Irin Rachel, ihren besten Freund James und das Leben, das sich ihnen immer wieder in den Weg stellt. Es geht um Freundschaften, um Schwärmereien und die große Liebe, darum, zu sich selbst zu finden, um Geldprobleme und Schwierigkeiten, den perfekten Job zu finden, um Lügen und Geheimnisse und um so vieles mehr. Es ist eine wahnsinnig emotionale Geschichte, die sehr character driven ist und dadurch so authentisch und echt wirkt. Ich wollte nicht, dass das Buch jemals endet, weil die Dynamik der beiden Protagonisten so süchtig nach mehr gemacht hat. Ganz viel Liebe an diese Geschichte!

  Lore of the Wilds

  I loved every single page of this book! The characters, the writing style, the plot, the vibes. THE VIBES!! The author's pleasant writing style totally captivated me and Lore stole my heart from the very first pages. She's so lovely, caring, strong, and brave, I just adored her. And I absolutely loved loved loved the vibes of this book, wow! It's magical, full of forests and nature, with a fairytale vibe. Plus, the moon and books (<3) play a huge role! Also, the plot was really good! It's very fast paced, with no boring chapters and every chapter totally captivated me. We also had a slow burn romance at its finest, it's developing really really slow (we still get a little spice), and I enjoyed every bit of it. The plot twist took me completely by surprise, and I don’t know how I’m going to wait until the second part is released! I can’t remember the last time a book touched me emotionally like this, I'm speechless, and I already want to reread it.
