Paul Kelver is a novel written by Jerome K. Jerome, first published in 1902. The story follows the life of the titular character, Paul Kelver, from his childhood to his adulthood. Kelver is born into a wealthy family but is sent away to boarding school at a young age. He struggles to fit in and is bullied by his classmates. After leaving school, he becomes a successful writer and travels the world. However, he remains haunted by his past and is unable to form lasting relationships with those around him. The novel explores themes of identity, class, and the search for meaning in life. It is a poignant and thought-provoking work that showcases Jerome's skill as a writer.Fate intended me for a singularly fortunate man. Properly, I ought to have been born in June, which being, as is well known, the luckiest month in all the year for such events, should, by thoughtful parents, be more generally selected. How it was I came to be born in May, which is, on the other hand, of all the twelve the most unlucky, as I have proved, I leave to those more conversant with the subject to explain. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. Because we believe this work is culturally important, we have made it available as part of our commitment for protecting, preserving, and promoting the world's literature in affordable, high quality, modern editions, that are true to their original work.
