Those Extraordinary Twins is a novel written by Mark Twain. The story is about two conjoined twins, Angelo and Luigi, who are joined at the waist. Despite their physical condition, they have unique abilities and personalities. Angelo is intelligent, eloquent, and ambitious, while Luigi is mischievous, impulsive, and carefree. The novel follows their adventures as they travel across America, performing in circuses and sideshows. Along the way, they encounter various characters, including a wealthy businessman who wants to exploit them, a scientist who wants to study them, and a group of criminals who want to use them for their own gain. The novel explores themes of identity, prejudice, exploitation, and the meaning of freedom. It is a satirical and humorous commentary on American society during the late 19th century, particularly on the treatment of people with disabilities and the obsession with fame and fortune.""Why, ma, yes you do. They're so fine and handsome, and high-bred and polite, so every way superior to our gawks here in this village; why, they'll make life different from what it was--so humdrum and commonplace, you know--oh, you may be sure they're full of accomplishments, and knowledge of the world, and all that, that will be an immense advantage to society here. Don't you think so, ma?""This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
