True To The Old Flag is a historical novel written by G.A. Henty. The book is set during the American Revolution and follows the story of a young man named Harry who is sent to America to fight for the British army. Harry is a loyal British subject who believes in the righteousness of the British cause. However, he soon realizes that the American colonists are not the rebels he thought they were but are fighting for their freedom and independence. As Harry fights alongside the British army, he witnesses the atrocities committed by the British soldiers against the American colonists. He begins to question his loyalty to the British cause and becomes torn between his duty to his country and his conscience. The novel is filled with action-packed battle scenes, political intrigue, and historical accuracy. Henty's writing style is engaging and informative, making the book an excellent resource for anyone interested in learning about the American Revolution.Overall, True To The Old Flag is a compelling historical novel that explores themes of loyalty, patriotism, and the struggle for freedom. It is a must-read for anyone interested in American history or historical fiction.Harold soon learned, and Cameron went at the work with grim earnestness. No smile ever crossed his face at his own accidents or at the wild vagaries of Jake, which excited silent amusement even among the Indians. In a short time the falls were less frequent, and by the time they reached the spot where they were determined to cross the lake at the point where Lakes Huron and Michigan join, the three novices were able to make fair progress in the snow-shoes.This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
