The Bhagavad Gita is a classic Hindu scripture that has been translated and interpreted by many scholars over the centuries. This particular version of the text was translated by Sir Edwin Arnold, a British poet and journalist who was deeply interested in Indian culture and religion. The Bhagavad Gita is a dialogue between the warrior Arjuna and the god Krishna, who appears in human form. Arjuna is about to go to war against his own family members, and he is overcome with doubts and fears. Krishna counsels him on the nature of the self, the universe, and the ultimate reality, and teaches him the path of devotion, action, and knowledge. Arnold's translation of the Bhagavad Gita is known for its poetic beauty and accessibility, and has been widely read and admired by Western audiences. In addition to the translation itself, the book includes an introduction by Arnold, as well as notes and commentary that help to explain the text and its historical and cultural context. Overall, The Bhagavad Gita is a timeless spiritual classic that offers profound insights into the nature of reality and the human condition.Free of commentary. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
