The Life and Diary of David Brainerd is a biographical book written by Jonathan Edwards about the life of David Brainerd, a missionary to Native Americans in the 18th century. The book is based on Brainerd's personal diary, which he kept from 1745 until his death in 1747. The book includes a detailed account of Brainerd's life, including his childhood, his conversion to Christianity, and his decision to become a missionary. It also describes his experiences living among and evangelizing Native American tribes, including the Delaware, Susquehanna, and Mohican tribes. Throughout the book, Edwards highlights Brainerd's deep spirituality and commitment to his mission, as well as the challenges he faced, including illness and opposition from both Native Americans and European colonizers. The Life and Diary of David Brainerd is considered a classic of American literature and an important work in the history of Christian missions. It has been widely read and studied by scholars, theologians, and missionaries, and continues to inspire readers with its powerful account of one man's dedication to spreading the gospel.David Brainerd Was An Early American Missionary To The Indians, And His Selfless Life Of Prayer Inspired Others.
