"I can't 'steal' you away. I just have to wait and hope that, someday, you'll ask," Tamani said.
"And if I don't?" Laurel said, her voice barely above a whisper.
"Then I guess I'll be waiting forever."
Although Laurel has come to accept her true identity as a faerie, she refuses to turn her back on her human life—and especially her boyfriend, David—to return to the faerie world. But when she is summoned to Avalon, Laurel can no longer deny her feelings for the charismatic faerie sentry Tamani. She is forced to make a choice—a choice that could break her heart.

eBook (ePUB)
Exploring Avalon
This book was slightly better than the first part with regard to the writing style. I liked the chapters where Laurel could explore the magical land of Avalon, the rest was fairly boring to me. It was nice to find out more about Tamani, but in the end there wasn't any character development. I found it ironic how he kept reminding Laurel of the social classes and rules in Avalon, because eventually it was him who broke those rules and the boundary that Laurel had set clearly. As I said in my review of the first book in the series, you can tell this was written almost two decades ago. I can see why I liked it as a teenager, but I won't be reading the rest of the series now.
