Sookie Stackhouse is a small-time cocktail waitress in small-town Louisiana. She's quiet, keeps to herself, and doesn't get out much - not because she's not pretty, she's a very cute bubbly blonde, or not interested in a social life - she really is ... but Sookie's got a bit of a disability. She can read minds. And that doesn't make her too dateable.
And then along comes Bill: he's tall, he's dark and he's handsome - and Sookie can't 'hear' a word he's thinking. He's exactly the type of guy she's been waiting all her life for. But Bill has a disability of his own: he's fussy about his food, he doesn't like suntans and he's never around during the day ...
Yep, Bill's a vampire. Worse than that, he hangs with a seriously creepy crowd, with a reputation for trouble - of the murderous kind.
And then one of Sookie's colleagues at the bar is killed, and it's beginning to look like Sookie might be the next victim ...

'This book is one of the most entertaining books I've ever read. It has comedy, suspense, romance and fantasy! What more could you possibly want? Clearly the author has a very twisted sense of humour which I loved! There was one incident that had me laughing so hard I nearly fell of my chair!' Goodreads reviewer, ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐
'A vampire series that's not just good, but great. This cute and cozy mystery packs quite a whollop in its short form, with a marvellously different story, genuinely warm characterization, and amusing injections.' Goodreads reviewer, ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐
'Okay, now this is a vampire romance done right! [Harris] should be claiming some sort of title over the genre of vampire novels, period!' Goodreads reviewer, ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐
'IT'S FANG-TASTIC!' Goodreads reviewer, ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐
'This book is amazing. And there is so much more insight to the characters than in the show. Just little things, quirks. Personalities shine brighter in the book. You really get a sense of who these people are. I couldn't put this book down and couldn't wait to start the next one.' Goodreads reviewer, ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐
'This was such an incredible book. The story was richly done with great laughs, action and a touch of mystery. The characters are what truly make this a standout series. They are all well thought out and well developed making them easy to love and enticing enough to make sure you continue with their journey.' Goodreads reviewer, ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐

This is mandatory reading for all the Vampire girlies (gn). Sookie is just a girl from Bon Temps Louisiana who happens to be able to read minds (very annoying). She works as a waitress in the local Restaurant/Bar when suddenly her life as she knows it changes forever with Bill Compton The Vampire's arrival. Set a few years after The Big Reveal where Vampires came out because the japanese have created a syntetic blood so good called True Blood. She's just a girl. There is a wonderful TV show called True Blood that is different but equally amazing as its book counterpart. -
