Who else but Mary Poppins can lead the Banks children on such extraordinary adventures?
Together they all meet the Goosegirl and the Swineherd, argue with talking cats on a distant planet, make the acquaintance of the folks who live under dandelions, and celebrate a birthday by dancing with their own shadows. And that’s just for starters!
A quiet stroll along the Long Walk brings its own impossible marvels. How could anyone foresee that an escaped china lion would clasp a London constable in a joyful embrace?
Near the Rose Garden, three royal princes and a milk-white unicorn step from the pages of a fairy tale to explore the afternoon. A fabulous horned steed dances beside the fountain before galloping back into the book.
- Bedtime Stories: An evening wish on the Cat Star sweeps Michael away to a golden palace, where he has to solve three tricky riddles to find his way back to tea.
- Sibling Dynamics: A box of childhood keepsakes left in the Banks nursery reunites a sad china lion with his long-lost huntsman, setting London’s tangled traffic lights back to green.
- Magical Realism: Delightful chaos sweeps through the park when a milk-white unicorn eludes butterfly nets and circus showmen, baffling the Park Keeper and the neighborhood constable alike.
- Also by This Author: Mary Poppins and Mary Poppins Comes Back.
