This Mournable Body

A fantastic novel about a woman growing up in post-colonial Zimbabwe. We follow Tambudzai, how she continuously attempts to rebuild her life until she ultimately gets in the way of her own happiness. I had a hard time putting the book out of my hands as the language is just so precise in how it conveys Tambudzai's emotions, really putting the reader in her shoes. Every page was a treat, even when the tone of the books becomes increasingly more depressing as we delve down Tambu's psyche.
