"There and back" ist der vierte Teil der Tagebücher des britischen Schauspielers Michael Palin, die er 1969 begonnen hat und die alle beruflichen wie privaten Aufs und Abs nachzeichnen, die das Leben so mit sich bringen. Wobei das Leben eines schauspielernden Reise-Schriftstellers unweigerlich aufregender ist als so mach anderes, weshalb auch das Tagebuch äußerst kurzweilig dahekommt. In welchem natürlich auch Palins Monty Python-Kollegen John Cleese, Terry Jones, Eric Idle und Terry Gilliam nicht zu kurz kommen, sowie (letztmalig) sein enger 2001 verstorbener Freund George Harrison.
