I really enjoyed reading The Great Gatsby. Although it is considered a classic novel, I found it surprisingly easy to read and follow. The writing style is elegant and engaging without feeling overly complicated, which made the story accessible and enjoyable. What I liked most was the way the novel explores themes such as love, ambition, wealth, and the pursuit of the American Dream. The characters are memorable, especially Gatsby himself, whose hopes and dreams drive the story in a compelling way. Overall, The Great Gatsby is a beautifully written novel that lives up to its reputation as a classic. Its combination of an interesting plot, vivid characters, and timeless themes made it a rewarding read.

„At the enchanted metropolitan twilight I felt a haunting loneliness sometimes, and felt it in others“ I don’t know how to find a proper rating for this book but it was phenomenal. I loved the writing, the characters, the setting and the story. It’s a tragically story about Jay Gatsby, who fell in love at a young age, but went to fight in World War I. Afterwards he studied at Oxford in an attempt to gain an education. But it turns out that he’s too late, and his love married another man. So he dedicates himself to winning her back, and his acquisition of millions of dollars, his purchase of a gaudy mansion on West Egg, and his lavish weekly parties are all merely means to that end. His talent for self-invention is what gives Gatsby his quality of “greatness”.
