This retelling of Persephone and Hades is amazing. Katee Robert balances the classic beats of a known story, banter, humour, smut, and spice. She brings the whole story into a modern setting that is still fully fantasy. Any Katee Robert fan will be happy.

Eine Kämpfernatur, mit Stärke, Loyalität und eine Sturheit die kaum Grenzen kennt aber ihre Sinnlichkeit unterstützt. Hades ist ein dunkler, gefährlicher und gerechter Beschützer. Er kann angsteinflößend sein und er versteckt sich, hält etwas aufrecht das so nicht mehr existiert. Auch er besitzt eine Sinnlichkeit, eine Dominanz aber auch eine Zärtlichkeit wie ich sie in ihrer Balance liebe. Der Gott ist ein Stratege, ein Führer, ein Kämpfer für Rache, Familie und Dämonen. Was soll ich sagen. Sexy, dunkel und absolut süchtig machend. Ich liebe die sarkastischen Dialoge der beiden. Beide denken nach, sin Strategen und planende. Sie ergänzen sich perfekt und sind sich doch sehr ähnlich. Ihre Dynamik und Emotionen waren so greifbar und verdammt feurig. Ihre Streits feurig und das Buch gepaart mit Witz, Dramatik und tollen Neben Charakteren. Sie es nun Pers Mütter, ihre Schwester oder Hades Götterfreunde die für ihn keine sind. Dazu ein spannender Showdown und heartbreaking sence Ich liebe dieses Buch.

Spicy, spicy, spicy – and Hades? Even spicier! If you like your books with a lot of spice, this one is definitely for you. Hades and Persephone in a sub-dom relationship – you could probably call this a modern take on the myth of Hades and Persephone. Although, to be honest, the story doesn’t have all that much in common with the original myth. So if you’re picking this up mainly for the mythology, you might be a little disappointed. But if you’re looking for a hot romance with a touch of mythology, you’re definitely in the right place. I absolutely loved this book and flew through it in just a few days. Final thoughts: Lots of spice, a little mythology, and plenty of Hades and Persephone – a combination that worked really well for me.

Die griechische Mythologie wird in eine moderne Welt übersetzt und die Autorin schafft ein Setting, dass den Eindruck von dunkler "Downtown"-Welt mit zwielichtigen Gestalten und Mafia-Boss like Hades erzeugt, der im Gegensatz zu der heller, glitzernder "Uptown"-Welt steht. So anschaulich erzählt, das man das Gefühl hat, selbst auf der Brücke zwischen den "Welten" zu stehen. Persephone ist unglücklich in ihrem Leben und flüchtet sich in die "Unterwelt" mit der Hoffnung, aus ihrem alten Leben ausbrechen zu können. Welche Opfer ist sie wohl bereit zu bringen? Das Buch ist jedoch nichts für "schwache Nerven" und ist meiner Meinung nach definitiv nicht für Leser*innen unter 16 Jahren geeignet.
