My winter tip for everyone who likes to read exciting (historical / social) thrillers or contemporary testimonies. Definitely not an easy peek for in between, but a gripping and lasting work that can demand attention and concentration. It's hard to be black, poor and unemployed in your 50s. But when someone dies, life quickly turns into a struggle for survival. Despite the circumstances, the main character cannot simply be pushed into a role and verbally fights for justice. Meanwhile, outrageous police work, statements and behavior by both "acquaintances" and strangers are taking place. All of this can also be read like a story from today ... Unfortunately, society has not got much further. What I liked best was that none of them took on purely standard roles, but were presented realistically and dealt with certain situations both socially and greedily asocially. Linguistically also mastered TOP. It is worth reading it, just because of the main character Mahmood, who defends himself and does not want to let everything be done to him.
