Well Traveled

„Well Traveled“ ist he fourth book in Jen DeLuca’s Ren Fair series, but can also be read as a stand-alone. For the last decade, Loisa „Lulu“ Malone has worked her ass of to become a partner at her law firm, but all that stress has taken a toll on her. So when the opportunity to join the „Dueling Kilts“ and travel across the country to take part in Ren Fairs presents itself, Lulu jumps at the opportunity. What she doen’t plan on jumping, though, is Dex MacLeans bones, even if he is a rather good-looking musician, there is a certain reputation that precedes him… In my opinion, none of its sequels can quite hold a candle to „Well Met“. Even so, I still enjoy reading Jen DeLuca’s books as they are always rather cute and wholesome and I just adore the setting. I am very happy that this installment, once again, has a heavier focus on Ren Fair life than the previous one. I just love the atmosphere and it’s great to see how Lulu flourishes in her new environment. It’s amazing to witness her transform from a stressed out and unhappy person that always just tried to meet someone else’s expectations to someone who knows and goes for what she wants. Similarly, Dex shows a lot of character growth as well. Always just seen as the pretty one who sleeps around and doesn’t care too much about anything, he overcomes that notion and kind of grows up in the process. All the other characters, their dynamics and kindess are great as well and it’s always nice to see protagonists from previous books make an appearance. If you are looking for a wholesome book that’ll put a smile on your face, each and every installment of Jen DeLuca’s Ren Fair series will do exactly that.
