City of Orange

At the very beginning, I thought "City of Orange" would be a post-apocalyptic story. How will the world be after the end of the world? Only desert and the color orange? In fact, it remembered me of the desert plane Dune. Slowly, the main character gathers piece for piece new information in meetings with an old man, a crow and a boy. Memories are coming back- not all of them are good. Even though the beginning is quite slow, I was fascinated by this original story and could not put it down. Until the end, I was not sure if it would be a happy ending or not. What I did not expect was that large parts of the story are about grief. David Yoon is a great storyteller and this won't be the last book I will be reading from him.
