The Coworker

The “coworker” by Freida McFadden is a criminal story loaded with psychological offensive and aggressive assault. With the previous work “If She Knews” she achieved her international breakthrough as an author overnight. The readers' enthusiasm about the incredible twists in her thriller was so great that “If She Knews” broke all records within a very short time. In contrast to crime, thrillers focus less on the investigator's perspective, but rather tell about characters who suddenly find themselves in a life-threatening or hopeless situation and become victims of a crime, adopting their perspective. Even though, I still hoped that at least some forensic investigations should at least be logical, or shouldn't have left open. In her various books about the “housemaids” the forensic investigations were profoundly covered. “the coworker” is not Freida MyFadden best work, it was entertaining and was written straight forward to the guilty - if you get over the first 50 pages.

I was really happy to get my hands on the new book. The Housemaid was an incredible read and thus it made me excited about the coworker. I am unfortunately a little bit disappointed. The book really was really slow paced and not much was happening. I predicted what would happen, so that was no fun. I didn't burn for more, to continue reading. It was a book you can finish easily... but that's it. However, I did anticipate a slightly different ending but that is fine.

I randomly bought a Freida McFadden book and now I’ve bought a dozen more. I like her style of writing a lot, especially with the different perspectives. “The Coworker” sounded great but wasn’t actually my first choice to buy. Nevertheless I bought it and was very happy that I did. Of course some tiny things were a little predictable but the plot twist was nevertheless very interesting. I also liked the ending a lot since it was sort of a happy ending for everyone.

Und ab zum nächsten Freida McFadden Buch, in diesem lernen wir Dawn und Natalie kennen, zwei sehr unterschiedliche Personen, beide wieder mit einer erstaunlich tiefen Vergangenheit die man sich erst am Ende bewusst wird. Zu Anfang wirkt alles noch sehr wahllos und unübersichtlich, doch je weiter man kommt mit dem Lesen um so mehr zeichnet sich ein klares Bild von allem. Wir haben zwei Personen die gegensätzlicher nicht sein können, bis eine von ihnen verdächtigt wird und gleichzeitig selber ermittelt. Eine super Mischung aus Misstrauen, Selbsttäuschung und interessanten zwischenmenschlichen Beziehungen, dazu der super spannende und flüssige Schreibstil den ich an Freida McFadden so sehr liebe. Ich wurde einfach so in das Buch hineingezogen, mal wieder konnte ich es kaum aus der Hand legen und habe das buch schnell beendet. Für mich gibt es nichts auszusetzen, denn alles hat perfekt gepasst und harmoniert, es gab einige spannende Intrigen und Plots die mich, dass ein oder andere mal aus der Bahn geworfen haben :) Ich kann dir das Buch nur empfehlen, wenn du Lust auf Spannung und einige interessante zwischenmenschliche Beziehungen hast. Werbung unbezahlt, weil das Buch selbst gekauft wurde.

Dieses Buch beinhaltet definitiv sehr viel Spannung und einen Mega Plotwist am Ende. Es ist, meiner Meinung nach, mal ein bisschen was anderes, aber ich möchte hier jetzt auch niemanden Spoilern. Aufjedenfall empfehlenswert :)
