This dark Romantasy inspired by Beauty and the Beast will catch you right at the beginning until you turn the last page. A strong female lead with nimble fingers, twisted tales and action-packed missions - don´t forget the monsters – will make you love this book! I have dived right into the story, expecting something very different, but I wasn´t disappointed. The inspiriation from Beauty and the Beast is very loosely and expanded with other new tales in the story itself. Linde focuses more on the plot line of monsters and magic than on the love story, which I found very refreshing. That doesn´t mean the love story is in the background, but the character development and missions are more important. The love story itself was very charming, with a morally grey love interest and sparkling chemistry. A great start to a series with much potential.

The plot idea about celtic myth and legend being real started out great, the magic system was intresting and the writing style fluid but then it became cliché and predictable and that shattered my first impression a little. I hope for an improvement in the second book.
