Our Infinite Fates. Deluxe Limited Edition

I absolutely love fated mates stories and Our Infinite Fates by Laura Steven is the ultimate book for that.   Evelyn and Arden love each other but they are dangerous together, so they are destined to kill each other before their eighteenth birthday. We follow these two through different lives and times and that was so intriguing, and I couldn’t get enough of it. I especially loved them in Siberia and El Salvador.   Evelyn is very happy in her current life. She works in a bookstore and is the only person to help her sister with Leukemia. She fights for her life and wants to break the cycle once and for all. And the twists and turns the story took were unexpected, enthralling and I was completely invested.   You only get Evelyn’s perspective, so it was extra special to discover Arden more and more with each chapter. He is clever, charming, and witty. And I especially loved his poetry and I desperately wish Ten Hundred Years of You would actually exist, and I’d immediately devour it as well.   This story is so angsty and bittersweet and I was so invested in Evelyn and Arden. The writing style was phenomenal as well and I loved how the red thread and the allegory of the souls was ever present. And the backstory at the end was stunning as well and made me love this book even more.   Everything about this book is absolute perfection and from the first to the last page this story is a masterpiece. I’m more than obsessed with Evelyn and Arden‘s story and it’s a new all-time favorite. 5+ stars.   (Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for providing me with an arc.)

Laura Steven konnte mich leider überhaupt nicht abholen mit ihrem Buch "Our Infinite Fates". Leider ist das Buch ganz anders als meine Erwartung. Evelyn und Arden finden sich in jedem Leben und müssen vor ihrem 18. Geburtstag sterben. Doch warum weiß nur Arden und er will es ihr nicht sagen. Meiner Meinung nach hätte die ganze tragische Liebesgeschichte keine 1000 Jahre dauern müssen, wenn Arden nal den Mund aufgemacht hätte. Insgesamt fand ich die Auflösung unzureichend und absolut klischeehaft. Darüber hinaus hat es sich für mich auch total gezogen. Das Buch ist so aufgebaut, dass man immer abwechselnd in ihrem aktuellen Leben in Wales ist und in einem früheren Leben. Anfangs war das spannend, aber es wurde schnell öde. Zumal es immer nur darum ging, dass Evelyn versucht sich von Arden fernzuhalten oder ihm zuvor zu kommen. Alle anderen Personen kommen dabei auch zu kurz. Ich hatte mir wirklich mehr erwartet. Meiner Meinung nach hätte man mehr aus der Idee machen können.

Das Buch ist packend und emotional. Die Rückblenden laufen chronologisch in die Vergangenheit und geben nach und nach mehr Preis, darüber wie sie zu dem würden, was sie jetzt sind. Gegen Ende wurde ich ein bisschen enttäuscht (unnötige Intimität und Aufklärung), aber die letzten 2 Kapitel haben noch mal alles umgeworfen und letztendlich wurde ich doch nicht so enttäuscht. Klare Empfehlung für alle, die sich in einem Buch verlieren und MEHR fühlen wollen.

Das Buch hat mir sehr gut gefallen. Das Englisch ist gut zu verstehen und ich war innerhalb weniger Tage mit dem Buch durch. Auf den ersten 100 Seiten passiert leider so gut wie nichts und ich konnte die Liebe zwischen den beiden nicht wirklich fühlen, aber die Auflösung hat mir sehr gut gefallen und ich würde das Buch auf jeden Fall weiterempfehlen. Das Englische,pinke Cover ist unglaublich schön.

I've come across several reviews that criticize the repetitive nature of Evelyn and Arden's past lives, and while I can see where they're coming from, I really can't relate. I thoroughly enjoyed the flashbacks, and I couldn't get enough of them and their doomed soulmate connection!! Oh god, it’s soo poetic and heart-wrenching at the same time. (And even if nobody asked, my knockout argument for reading it was that someone on TikTok said the story was inspired by Taylor Swift's "exile” - yes, that speaks for itself.)
