Rezension

Praise for Emily Wilde's Compendium of Lost Tales

Full of heart and wonder, Emily Wilde s Compendium of Lost Tales is a conclusion fitting for its heroine: thoughtful, fantastical and dotted with thoroughly informative footnotes. BookPage, starred review

Fawcett delivers a perfect new entry in this series, which will enrapture readers with fantastic worldbuilding. A great pick for those who are fans of both Marie Brennan s A Natural History of Dragons and Jane Austen novels. Library Journal, starred review

The charming third (and final) installment in the Emily Wilde series cements Heather Fawcett as the queen of cozy, low-stakes fantasy. Paste

Praise for Emily Wilde's Map of the Otherlands

Like all good fairy tales, this book is enchantingly charming, with hints of razor-sharp teeth. My only complaint is that it ends; I want to live in Emily s Otherlands forever. Kiersten White, #1 New York Times bestselling author of Mister Magic

Readers will be pleased that curmudgeonly Emily hasn t lost too much of her edge, but she s still susceptible to unexpected bonds of friendship. Booklist, starred review

Upping the danger and the darkness while still retaining all the beauty of the prose, this takes Emily s story to new heights. Publishers Weekly

Love can change a person or a faerie in the most unexpected of ways, and it s impossible to walk alongside Emily on her journey of scholarship, mapmaking and true love without rooting for her. BookPage

Wilde is a fantastic character: frosty and reserved, but also generous and kind . . . In many ways, the second Emily Wilde book is even more compelling than the first. The Washington Post

Praise for Emily Wilde's Encyclopaedia of Faeries

A heartwarming spin on fantasy lore PopSugar

The world-building here is exquisite . . . and the characters are just as textured and richly drawn. This is the kind of forlorn, folkloric fantasy that remembers the old, blood-ribboned source material about sacrifices and stolen children, but adds a modern gloss. The New York Times Book Review, Sizzling Hot Books for Cold Winter Days

Emily herself is delightful, brilliant but flawed, and often darkly funny. Her frustration with her feckless but charming colleague Wendell Bambleby is the perfect spark, and the romance is light but hits surprisingly hard when it chooses to. The New York Times (Editors Choice)

Fawcett grabs readers attention by drawing them into the folklore as well as the surrounding world. A great read for fans of Sarah J. Maas and Erin Morgenstern. Library Journal (starred review)

The full cast of characters, well-developed faerie lore, and pervasive sense of cold add depth to the delightful proceedings, which include scholarship, yes, but also danger and a hint of romance. Booklist (starred review)

Follow the lights into the woods and dance with the fae under Emily s careful guidance just be sure not to get carried away. BookPage

a befitting end to a beautiful series

This book series cured me of a years-long reader's block. It made me fall back in love with fantasy. With it's cosy vibes, very relatable main character, humor and suspense. This third and final book of the series tidies up rather nicely. Featuring our favorite characters from parts 1&2, opening up another world full with wonder with its new setting. Loved it and will definitely keep re-reading the whole series!

    Buch (Taschenbuch)

    A whimsical fairytale

I've read the last book of the Emily Wilde series in one sitting. They actually did it! After a long search Emily and Wendell are finally able to steal back his throne. But the old queen has cursed the kingdom and once again it's up to Emily to find a way to save it. I loved this series so much. I really wanted to take my time with the last book simply because I didn't want to say goodbye...but than it was way to tempting so I had to read it in one sitting. In this book Emily is confronted with new challenges, some of them forcing her out of her confort zone. Wendell tries to be understanding and helpful but sometimes Emily has to do what she needs to do in her own way. We get some really nice links to the two previous books and in my oppinion an ending that completes the series perfectly.

    Buch (Gebundene Ausgabe)

Can one socially awkward Professor turned Fairy Queen save the day once again?

Returning to Emily’s world was as natural as coming home to one’s family and friends. Characters new and old appear in the final stretch of securing Wendell’s kingdom once and for all, creating the most lovely and whimsical fairy tale inspired ending to this trilogy. I really enjoyed the journey in this book, it really reflected a bunch of fairy tale tropes, combined with our socially-awkward heroine, who somehow always knows how to solve even the strangest most unforeseen circumstances. I am quite sad this series is over, but it is definitely one of those heartwarming adventure stories that reminds you of all the fairy tales you used to read as a child. Highly recommend!

    Fairy tale for adults

I adore Hearther Fawcett's way to write. It feels like a fairy tale for adults and is the perfect slow palette cleanser. The book feels cosy, without being boring and everyone is just so charming. I'll always have the best time, getting lost in Emily Wildes World. A wholesome ending and I'm both happy and sad to have to part with it.

Emily Wilde's Compendium of Lost Tales

I sadly didn't like this third installment as much as the other two, but Emily and Wendell still managed bewitch me. I liked the new atmosphere of the kingdom in faerie, but the inter-personal relationships didn't catch me as much this time around. I'd still recommend reading this and if there will ever be a fourth one, I'm gonna be the first to buy it <3
