Deep End From the bestselling author of The Love Hypothesis

Deep End von Ali Hazelwood hat mich von der ersten Seite an begeistert. Der gewohnt humorvolle und lockere Schreibstil sorgt dafür, dass man nur so durch die Seiten fliegt. Gleichzeitig schafft es die Autorin, emotionale Momente und tiefgründige Themen gekonnt in die Geschichte einzubinden, ohne dass sie ihren Charme verliert. Die Charaktere sind sympathisch, authentisch und haben eine wunderbare Dynamik, die für viele schöne, witzige und gefühlvolle Momente sorgt. Besonders das Zusammenspiel der beiden Hauptfiguren hat mir richtig gut gefallen – ihre Entwicklung wirkt glaubwürdig und macht einfach Spaß zu verfolgen. Die Mischung aus Romantik, Humor und Emotionen ist Ali Hazelwood wieder einmal hervorragend gelungen. Ich habe das Buch innerhalb kürzester Zeit verschlungen und war am Ende fast traurig, dass die Geschichte schon vorbei war. Für Fans von romantischen Geschichten mit starken Charakteren und jeder Menge Herz ist Deep End eine absolute Empfehlung. Verdiente 5 von 5 Sternen!

Deep End war toll! Hab’s innerhalb von 2 Tagen gelesen und ich liebe einfach ihren Schreibstil, unterhaltsam, aber dennoch so realitätsnah! Lukas und Scarlett kann man nur lieben, sie sind einfach das perfekte Gegenstück für den Anderen und das realisieren sie auch nach und nach! Einen Einblick in den Schwimmsport zu bekommen war cool, vor allem wie viel harte Arbeit da reingeht. Die Smut Szenen waren sehr gut!

Ali Hazelwood's writing, much like Emily Henry’s, has that fluffy, green-flag, feel-good vibe, and Deep End is no exception. If you’re looking for a book with sizzling chemistry but without the problematic aspects of Fifty Shades of Grey, then this one hits the mark—except with swimmers instead of billionaires. It’s a steamy, swoon-worthy read that stays true to Hazelwood’s style. That being said, I had to knock off a star for one glaring issue: the ex-girlfriend character. Personally, I found her to be needy and annoying, and I really didn’t like the whole "I want to sleep with other people, but we're soulmates and endgame" vibe. This attitude made it hard for me to warm up to her, and the fact that she was a constant presence throughout the book didn't help. If she had been written differently, this could’ve easily been a 5-star book for me.

CONS: I bought this book because of the Booktok. And honestly I didn't understand the hype about it at all. I think Ali Hazelwood's other books have much more interesting story lines and characters. There are also a lot of terms about swimming. And Ali Hazelwood is known for her deep dive into the topics she is writing about. But here personally for me it was too much (even if it's explained mostly in the book, there is still some stuff I needed to google and it annoyed me). And the female character is not that smart enough for me in her interactions with people. I finished the book simply because I try to never DNF anything, so it took me weeks to read it. But after this book I thought that "my romance with Ali Hazelwood" is probably over. And it's also portraited as light BDSM, but it's not there. Just maybe some authority shown, that's it. PROS: The story is still easy to follow, it's pretty vanilla to me, spicy scenes are good and enough. If you like a college romance and/or sport romance - this book is for you.

Ich hab das Buch ungefähr bis zur Hälfte gelesen.(bisschen mehr sogar) Habe es so oft auf TikTok gesehen und wollte mir selbst ein Bild davon machen. Also bis zur Hälfte 0 Spice, von Kinks kann da auch nicht wirklich gesprochen werden. War sehr sehr enttäuscht. Aber hey das ist nur meine Meinung.
