Elif Shafak weaves together three stories set across different times and places, where each one is deeply moving on its own, but reaching its full emotional power only when seen as part of a whole. Water plays a central role throughout the novel, becoming a kind of memory of the world, carrying stories, trauma and longing across generations, connecting people beyond boundaries of time and place. It's poetic, thoughtful and full of heart! There are Rivers in the Sky is one of the most beautiful books I've read this year! It reminds us that stories, much like the water cycle itself, never truly end. They simply change course and continue flowing into other lives. Elif Shafak is an auto-buy-and-read author for me as soon as she releases a new novel.

Wow, this might be the best book I read this year!!! Elif Shafak has such a unique writing style by connecting every single character, event and object; I’m simply amazed! Never experiencing rain the same way after reading this book ️
