A Forbidden Alchemy an exhilarating slow burn romantasy of first loves and betrayals

This book started slow and ended with a bang. At first it was hard for me to get into the story and connect with the characters because of the time jumps that didn't give me the chance to really grow up with Nina and understand her personal relationships as well as the magnitude of her powers. That fact diminished the impact and depth of the losses she suffered early on. But all that changes later on. We really get to know Nina as her POV is told by a frist person narrator. And what I found to be really fascinating is that we also get Patrick's POV - but told by an oniscient narrator. It's the first book I've read that changes the narrative style and after some getting used to I really love it. The story is thought through and original and I did not see that last plot twist coming. I can't wait to see what happens next in "The Forsaken Prophecy".
