Learning about her brother, John promises Isabella that he will protect Marco if he ever encounters him on the battlefielda promise he risks his life to keep during the bloody Battle of Goose Green.
When the war ends and political borders force them apart, John and Isabella part ways at the Port Stanley docks with only a journal, a handkerchief, and a promise to remember each other.
