Agnes Aubert's Mystical Cat Shelter

Agnes Aubert hat eine fast magische Begabung, Sie kann für jeden Menschen die passende Katze finden (vielleicht auch eher umgekehrt). Mit Magie und vor allem Magiern kann Agnes aus guten Gründen nichts anfangen denn die sind Schuld dass Sie und ihre Schützlinge noch vor dem Winter eine neue Unterkunft brauchen. Egal wo ich dieses Buch gelesen habe es fühlte sich immer an als würde ich in meinem Lieblingssessel sitzen mit süß duftendem Gebäck daneben und einer Katze (die ich garnicht habe) auf dem Schoß.

A cosy fantasy novel that reminded me of “Howl’s Moving Castle” in a good way. As a cat lover I especially loved the setting, and in general I found the story very magical and easy to read in one go!

The first 30% were pretty hard to get through if I'm honest.. The story didn't quite catch me and animal shelters always give me a bit of anxiety (I'm just a big softie after all). I did force myself to continue though and honestly I am glad I did. I didn't love it quite as much as I did the "Emily Wilde"-series, but I still had a great time and after procrastinating the first part for days, I finished the rest of the story in a single afternoon. I loved Havelocks character best I think and I definitely understand the comparison to Howl - considering all the "messy-dom" and whimsy they share. He made the whole story so likeable and kinda quirky!! My top tier favorite (ofc) were the cats though and Agnes' love for them. As a fellow cat-haver I get her 100% and honestly some of the fluffy companions did remind me of my three little furbabies so yeah, that made it very easy to adore the book. I would totally recommend this story. It's heartwarming and it has the best ending so yeah. Can't do anything wrong here <3

A charming book that features (as the title promises) a lot of cats. Agnes, owner of a somewhat struggling charity for cats, initially only wants one thing - a new home for her charity after the old one has been destroyed. Unfortunately, that is easier said than then done. After a long search, there is only one place that will take her and the cats. The catch? Her new landlord is a 'dark' magician who's mixed up in all kinds of trouble. The best part of the story were definitely the cats, who all had their own character. But I also really liked how the themes of grief / love after loss were portrayed and how kind the mc stayed despite it all.
