    Buch (Taschenbuch)

    Best book I’ve read!!

This book had me hooked from day one. Briar’s past and traumas played a major role in shaping the entire story. I thought it was a bit of a shame that we didn’t learn much about Roman’s past, but even so, there was plenty of interesting information about him and his personality. I found the relationship between the two of them particularly compelling, and how it slowly developed as the story unfolded. Not to mention the biggest plot twist I’ve ever encountered in a book! It’s worth noting that, for a dark romance, it surprisingly contains very few intimate scenes. The two interact more through words and actions than through intimate moments, which I really liked and appreciated. Huge kudos to the author, and I’m really hoping for another story featuring these two, because they fascinated me so much and found their way back to each other despite their many differences. Still, I recommend that you really read through the trigger warnings and decide for yourself whether you’re comfortable with them before you start the story. But as I said: It’s a super emotional story, and you really find yourself rooting for them. 10/10!

    Buch (Taschenbuch)

Could be better and more intertaining

It's taking part in in the Dark Forces series about ten years after the duology My Knife, your Heart... The story in Bulletproof is well written and told by the protagonists, Roman and Briar, in the first person. This usually helps me a lot in getting a liking about the main characters. I could understand them better in their actions and feelings this way. I'm not constantly ok with their behavior, but at least I was able to put myself in their position, even when I felt it difficult to rely to it. About the story Plottline as it is, I felt it very Action loaded from the very first moment and feels a lot rushed. A lot is happening but there's not much of an evolution in it. We had the first interaction with the mains. Their relationship, if it could be called as such, is very hateful in the beginning. They start as enemies or even as bully. I have to say that this book is heavy in its language. It is a bully romance and gets darker and more hateful as it progresses. I know this is only fiction, these characters and World don't exist, but I fear that there might be some people out there like them. Each one has the right to love each other the way they want as long as there is consent. Which it's a given in the book/relationship of Briar and Roman. I felt it difficult to get their romance in my head. Briar does make an evolution into darker maters while still lingering to her humanity. Roman gets more emotional, means gets emotions for Briar. I'm still processing this story, but I can say it was interesting, but lacks the hooking previous books have. Conclusion: If you start with this book in the Dark Forces World you might like it more than if you read the previous books if the series. It's still interesting but lacks the known hooking and it feels a bit rushed in actions. Info: This is a book installed in the Dark Forces World. This book can be read independently from the previous books as the first one (Leave me behind) as they are standalones. Reading more from the Dark Forces (Standalones): - Leave me behind - Bulletproof Duology (must be read in this order): 1. Your Knife, My Heart 2. My Blade, Your Back

    Buch (Taschenbuch)

    really bulletproof?

Roman is on his assuming to be last mission before he gets his card. His mission: infiltrate and take down the enemies in the small town. How unfortunate that Briar is drawn to the small town by her uncle’s death and on the run from Callum. And Briar Thornton does not know what she got herself into when she meets Roman and his men. The twists towards the end are so good!
