Life's Too Short the most hilarious and heartbreaking read of 2021

„Life’s Too Short“ is the third book in Abby Jimenez‘ „The Friend Zone“ series and probably the best love story I’ve read so far this year. Vanessa, a travel vlogger and activist by trade, always tries to live life to the fullest. Adrian, a successful lawyer, needs to constantly be in control of everything. When Vanessa ends up fostering her sister’s infant daughter and Adrian gets stuck with an incontinent dog the two neighbours team up to help each other out. Neither one of them is looking to start a relationship for very different reasons, but before long they can’t deny their feelings for each other… Wow. Just wow. „Life’s Too Short“ is one of the best romantic novels I’ve ever read and I don’t know how I’ve never stumbled upon its author before. I adored absolutely everything about this book. Vanessa and Adrian are deep and layered characters and it’s simply impossible not to fall in love with them. They are great individuals and their dynamic is just amazing. I laughed with them, cheered them on and on more than one occasion my heart broke for them – they really put me on an emotional rollercoaster. The author touches on quite a few topics that might be triggering to some, but incorporates them in a really wonderful, honest and informative way. Those topics are addiction, ALS, anxiety and loss of a loved one just to name a few. Also, I listened to this on audiobook and the voice actors did a wonderful job of bringing the characters to life. If you enjoy love stories that feel very true to life, you shouldn’t miss out on „Life’s Too Short“. It is cute, funny, dramatic and informative all at the same time and virtually unputdownable. Highly recommended!
