Fence Book One

It's been four years since I read the first few installments of this series, and I was excited to see this new collection be announced! I enjoyed Fence the first time around, and I still enjoy it now. I love all the different characters, even if some of them get less "page-time" due to the format. I'm sure we will learn more about them all in future books. I think what mostly draws me in about this series is that technically, the characters are (almost) all rivals, but this rivalry plays out differently between all of them. It is a really interesting look into how people react to being challenged, winning, losing, working together (even if you are doing a solo sport), and being confronted with their fears and problems. I am really looking forward to reading more of this series and following Nicholas, Seiji, and the gang further into their time at school!
