All Alexis wants from life is living a more or less comfortable life with her brother and being left alone by anyone else. That changes drastically after it is discovered, that Alexis has Spartan blood running through her veins. As the only woman she is thrown in a competition of demigods who fight to earn their immortality. Its been a long time since i last binged a book in a few sittings, but this one really hooked me. The storyline is entertaining and the main character Alexis is pretty funny. Blood of hercules is the first book in an upcoming series, Jasmine Mas did a great job at laying the groundwork and getting the reader excited for the next book. If you like reading about sexual tension and enjoy a great fantasy plot this book is perfect for you since the series is considered a dark reverse harem fantasy.

WOW, dieses Buch hat mich komplett in seinen Bann gezogen! Zunächst hat mir der Schreibstil unfassbar zugesagt, man konnte die Geschichte einfach flüssig runterlesen. Die Autorin hat Humor, Gewalt, Intensität und Spannung erfolgreich kombiniert. Am Anfang war ich skeptisch da ich mir die griechische Mythologie nicht in einem dystopischen Setting vorstellen konnte aber es hat total gepasst! Im ersten Band gibt es wenig Spice aber durch die Taten und Intensität zwischen den Charakteren war das auch gar nicht nötig, man hat trotzdem sehr viel gefühlt. Also tolles World Building, außergewöhnliches Setting, starke und interessante(!) Charaktere, toller Schreibstil und intensives Leseerlebnis, was will man mehr?! Achja hab ich schon Achilles, Patro, Kharon und Augustus erwähnt? Alleine für die 4 lohnt es sich eindeutig das Buch zu lesen!!! Bis jetzt mein Jahreshighlight 2025 und ich weiß auch nicht, ob sich daran dieses Jahr noch was ändern wird.

The Dilogy has some weak and strong moments. Alexis Hart would have died in the first book if it werent for her love interests, family and friends. So it was refreshing when she finally realised that she´s powerful and kick ass on her own. I love her bickering and sarcastic attitude towards the love interests. The book is considered dark romance, but I would disagree

The story starts with a lot of over the top dramatics like a fanfiction written by a teenage girl on wattpad and at first I struggled to emerge into the story. Luckily that changed after a few chapters! The drama stays but as the story develops I was able to find my fascination for the plot. Since I am a theory girl, I started guessing and theorizing about Alexis right from the bat, about her past, her family her powers. Every Chapter revealed a little more, tiny details gave hints. I liked the building of the Gods houses, even if some family matters were changed to fit the story. The world itself is very dystopian, which at some point seemed rather unrealistic or unfitting but I was able to just blame that on the melodramatics. But my theory driven brain still couldn't put the book away! All in all I'd say it's a taste kind of thing.

If I could give this one zero stars I would. Let's start with something positive: the ending. Not only because I could finally stop reading this book but also because it's the only thing that was remotely interesting albeit somewhat predictable. For all those out there wanting to buy this book because of the greek mythology - don't. Apart from the names used there is nothing in there connecting to ancient myths and legends. The main character seems really stupid and naive with a disturbing (sexual) obsession with mathematician Carl Gauss. The conversations are shallow and really nothing that happens in this book is at all surprising. And don't even get me started on the reverse harem trope in this. I mean, common. At least four immortal men preying on someone barely legal? This book is just really bad writing combined with a horrible plot.
