Shattered Gods

I was genuinely curious to see how Katee Robert would bring the series to an end and resolve all the chaos unfolding in Olympus. And while the conclusion was rather brief, it was still more or less satisfying. That being said, many of my previous complaints remain. I'll give the series credit for keeping me invested enough to make it through all ten books, but ultimately, the focus on characters and physical attraction was still a little too heavy for my taste. Katee Robert certainly knows how to write compelling characters and great spice, I'll give her that. Yet somehow, it feels like so much has happened in this book and at the same time barely anything at all. I can't quite put my finger on what's missing, but something about the storytelling left me wanting more. One thing I can say for certain is that I was disappointed by the epilogue. After ten books and countless characters we've come to know, I really wish we'd gotten at least a glimpse of where everyone ended up. As much as I appreciated seeing how the protagonists' story came to an end, it felt somewhat underwhelming without that wider sense of closure. On the other hand, the resolution of Olympus's overarching storyline felt both natural and believable, which I appreciated. And just to be clear, three stars isn't a bad rating in my opinion. It simply means I liked it. Nothing more, nothing less.
