Without a doubt: This is my absolute favorite couple and book of the whole Rina-verse!!! The setting alone is just so unique and interesting! I was sooo excited to read the story of Kirill and Sasha. The story takes place in the Russian mafia, to be specific in the Russian military, where Sasha pretends to be a man to—Well I'm not gonna tell you that, you have to read it yourself to find out hehe ദ്ദി ˉ͈̀꒳ˉ͈́ )✧. You might think that she's just a weakling, but that's false!!! She’s tough, she knows what she wants, and she won’t let anyone tell her otherwise—that’s why I love her so much and why she's undoubtedly one of my favorite FMCs. She might be a bit weaker, but she's a super talented shooter. When she meets Kirill for the first time, she looks up to him not only because he’s the superior of her military group, he’s also a powerful leader. Eventually she impresses him, because why wouldn't he be impressed with her? We love Sasha (˶˃ ᵕ ˂˶) He chooses her to become his bodyguard, and he also takes her with him on a rather dangerous mission. Let’s just say things don’t exactly go as planned, and they end up in a quite unfortunate situation... During the book, he gets quite obsessed with her. He wants to find out why she’s pretending to be a man, but most of all, he just wants to be near her. The Story is thrilling and has quite a few good and surprising plot twists that just leave you speechless—and maaaybe heartbroken. Rina Kent created an absolute Masterpiece with a perfect mix of emotional moments, excitement and plot twists that will surprise you, I promise! One hundred percent recommended, this is a book you don’t want to miss out on, if you love dark romance as much as I do. •russian mafia•forced proximity•secret identity•spicy•

Deutsch: "Blood of my Monster" ist der Auftakt der "Monster"-Trilogie rund um Kirill und Sasha, die man bereits in den vorherigen Buchreihen ("Throne"-Dilogie, "Empire of Sin", "Deception"-Trilogie) als Nebencharaktere kennengelernt hat. Nun erfahren wir mehr zu den Hintergründen ihrer "Beziehung" und es ist anders, als ich erwartet habe. Wir bekommen Military gepaart mit Mafia und diese Kombi allein ist schon ein Alleinstellungsmerkmal. Trotzdem hätte ich mir noch mehr von dem Militär-Aspekt gewünscht, ehe es in die Mafia-Welt geht. Nichtsdestotrotz liebe ich die Tension zwischen Kirill und Sasha. Die Geheimnisse machen es zusätzlich spannend und ich bin gespannt, was noch auf uns zukommt, da noch vieles im Dunkeln liegt, auch bezüglich Sashas eigener Vergangenheit. Und wie wir es von Rina Kent kennen, lässt sie uns am Ende sprachlos zurück. Daher wird gleich Band 2 angefangen. Wer Military Romance mit Mafia-Vibes, Forbidden Love und Secret Identity mag, sollte sich den Auftakt der "Monster"-Trilogie nicht entgehen lassen! Suchtpotenzial! Englisch: "Blood of my Monster" is the first book in the "Monster" trilogy about Kirill and Sasha, whom we already know as side characters from previous book series ("Throne" duology, "Empire of Sin," "Deception" trilogy). Now we learn more about the background of their "relationship," and it's different than I expected. We get a military setting paired with the mafia, and this combination alone is unique. Still, I would have liked to see more of the military aspect before diving into the mafia world. Nevertheless, I love the tension between Kirill and Sasha. The secrets make it even more exciting, and I'm curious to see what's in store for us, as much remains unclear, including Sasha's own past. And as we've come to expect from Rina Kent, she leaves us speechless at the end. That's why I'm going to start book 2 right away. If you like military romance with mafia vibes, forbidden love, and secret identity, don't miss the start of the "Monster" trilogy! Highly addictive!
