In his latest novel, Billy Warren challenges the reader with two complex whodunit murder mysteries while confronting conventional notions of what is good and what is evil. Beyond Good and Evil and Murder ain't no cozy mystery as life ain't so comfy in a South Brooklyn neighborhood where one out of ten cops is working for the mob. It's an evil world for good people to endure. Beyond Good and Evil and Murder is the fast-paced follow-up to Fathers and Sons and Other Village Idiots, Billy Warren's debut novel, in which murderous events were set in motion. Coney Island, October 25, 1969. A bookie is run down by a train. Ten miles away, a tavern party is providing the locals with airtight alibis. Months later, another neighborhood bookie is murdered in the same place using the same odd weapon-a speeding train. Of course, a party is happening once again in the same tavern. To solve these murders, a bartender and a priest form an unlikely partnership. To complicate matters further, our duo uncovers a secret society that may have been rescuing victims of exploitation for decades, perhaps even centuries. Were they angels, knights, or vigilantes? In his latest novel, Billy Warren challenges the reader with two complex whodunit murder mysteries while confronting conventional notions of what is good and what is evil. Readers may enjoy multiple reads to gather all the details of this intriguing plot.
