""A Description of the Trajan Column"" is a book written by John Hungerford Pollen in 1874. The book provides a detailed account of the Trajan Column, a Roman triumphal column located in Rome, Italy. The column was built to commemorate the victories of Emperor Trajan in the Dacian Wars. The book describes the history of the column, its construction, and the intricate carvings that cover its surface. Pollen provides a thorough analysis of the scenes depicted on the column, which include battles, sieges, and other military events. He also discusses the symbolism and meaning behind the carvings, and how they relate to Roman military and political ideology. Overall, ""A Description of the Trajan Column"" is an informative and detailed account of one of Rome's most iconic monuments. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
