Portrait

Dr. Ankur Gupta is an associate professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Jodhpur, India. He obtained his M.Tech. from IIT (BHU) Varanasi and Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from IIT Kanpur, followed by a faculty tenure at IIT Bhubaneswar before joining IIT Jodhpur. Dr. Gupta has made extensive research contributions and has received several prestigious recognitions, such as the Institute Research Excellence Award (2025), Senior Researcher Award (Engineering) 2025, Young Researcher Award (2024), ISSS Young Scientist Award (2022), IEI Young Engineer Award (2019–20), and INYAS Membership (2023). He has held international research fellowships in Germany and France. At IIT Jodhpur, he established the Microtechnology Laboratory and supervises multiple Ph.D. and M.Tech. scholars. His primary research interests include developing innovative and affordable microsystems fabrication techniques for multidisciplinary applications.

Prof. Avinash Kumar Agarwal is currently the director at IIT Jodhpur. Prof. Avinash Kumar Agarwal joined the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur, India, in 2001 after working as a postdoctoral fellow at the Engine Research Center, University of Wisconsin at Madison, USA. His interests are IC engines, combustion, alternate and conventional fuels, lubricating oil tribology, optical diagnostics, laser ignition, HCCI, emissions and particulate control, and large bore engines. Prof. Agarwal has published 290+ peer-reviewed international journal and conference papers, many edited books, and book chapters. He is a fellow of SAE (2012), fellow of ASME (2013), fellow of ISEES (2015), fellow of INAE (2015), fellow of NASI (2018), fellow of Royal Society of Chemistry (2018), and fellow of American Association of Advancement in Science (2020).

Dr. Prince Kumar Rai is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology (VNIT), Nagpur. Prior to joining VNIT, he served as an Assistant Professor at the School of Mechanical Engineering, Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT), Vellore, India. He held an Institute Postdoctoral Fellowship at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay, India, under the Institute Post-Doctoral Fellowship program. He also served as an IGSTC Postdoctoral Industrial Fellow at Airbus Central Research & Technology (CRT), Munich, Germany. He obtained his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from IIT Jodhpur in 2024, where his research focused on developing electrochemical additive manufacturing and pulse electroforming techniques for fabricating micro/nano-structured metallic architectures. Dr. Rai’s research interests include electrochemical-assisted manufacturing, surface coatings, electroforming, microfabrication, electrodeposition, and corrosion engineering. He has significant expertise in advanced materials characterization and process optimization for energy and environmental applications. He has authored over 12 peer-reviewed journal articles, several conference papers, and has 2 patents under submission.
