Emotions as Entanglements in Language Education Power, Inequality and Possibility

Pramod K. Sah is a critical applied linguist based in Vancouver, Canada, whose work examines how colonial, liberal, and racist language ideologies shape educational and socioemotional inequalities in multilingual societies. He is the Founding Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Education, Language, and Ideology (JELI), an open-access scholarly journal dedicated to research on language ideology and education. His recent publications include Translingual Practices in English Language Education in South Asia: Inclusivity and Equity (co-edited with Shaila Sultana, Multilingual Matters, 2026) and Assessment, Testing and Evaluation in English-Medium Education from a Global Perspective (co-edited with Jack Pun and Samantha Curle, Multilingual Matters, 2025).
