Love is a Dog from Hell Poems 1974 - 1977

Don´t know what the other person is on about, Bukowski is not for everyone but he wrote about real life and real feelings. The poems are really tender and beautiful and i have gifted this book about 10 times to friends with heartache and this book is also my close companion when once again a romantic relationship has ended.

I bought this book blindly, which was a mistake. I've seen the book being recommended online by many people, their reviews being 5-starred, but I've never enjoyed a book less. I did not finish it, but most of what I did read was misogynistic and perverse. In the book he talks about himself and his 'relations' with women in quite some detail, often a little excessive. We learn he is obviously not one who settled down for somebody and what he's looking for is hooking up. I did not find any depiction of love in all that I read. A massive disappointment.
