This book is disturbing, graphic and strangely poetic. It dives deep into obsession and violence, following two serial killers whose lives collide in the darkest ways possible. It‘s definitely an experience I wouldn‘t recommend to everyone, because it‘s a lot to stomach. That being said, if you want transgressive horror with a bunch of questionable characters and a haunting atmosphere (to say the least), this book is perfect for you.

Disturbing, bordering on pure horror porn. But still amazing! Mostly gore, still strong characters. Escaping prison in London, Serial Killer Andrew Compton makes his way to New Orleans' French Quarter and meets this killing soulmate. Focusing on a victim together. Not only gore, though: The story of the victim, his background, is an amazing show of being gay in New Orleans, the horror and fear of AIDS, and the tragedy in his friends' circle. Every single character in this book is disturbing and disturbed. And I really loved it and felt for most of them.
