George R. R. Martin's A Game of Thrones 5-Book Boxed Set (Song of Ice and Fire Series) A Game of Thrones, A Clash of Kings, A Storm of Swords, A Feast for Crows, and A Dance with Dragons

“Winter is coming…” not just in Winterfell! Hey the imp ist irre!

I bought this set mainly because the cover designs looked very attractive in photos. The artwork itself is nice and the overall presentation of the box set is visually appealing at first glance. However, the books are noticeably larger than a typical paperback. Because of this larger format, when you look closely at the covers the images appear somewhat stretched or slightly distorted. The covers look good from a distance, but up close the print quality is not as sharp as expected. For comparison, I also own the Harper Voyager mass-market paperback of A Game of Thrones (the first book), and that edition actually has better cover printing and page quality. The colors and details on that version look clearer, and the pages feel thicker. The main downside of the mass-market edition is its smaller size, which is why I initially chose this box set. I preferred the larger format and the aesthetic of the covers. But after buying it, I feel the trade-off is not really worth it. The cover image quality up close is weaker, and the pages in this set are thinner than in some other editions. Overall, the covers are attractive at first glance, but the printing quality and paper thickness are somewhat disappointing compared to other editions.
