Being Religious and Gay
Going into this I've only heard great things about Jeanette Winterson; and this book definitely made me a fan! The writing style is surprisingly quite funny and I really enjoyed the different plot elements. I'm excited to read more by Winterson!! -

Religious mania, queer awakenings, demonic posession and a whole lot of oranges.
Jaenette Winterson portrays growing up in a closed off religious society through the eyes of a child in this book. Events that sound like insanity to other people are just normal tuesdays when you grow up surrounded by them all the time. It's an interesting, humouros read. She webs fantastical stories into her novel that weren't quite my personal taste but if you enjoy that, you will love this book as well.
